I do not use digital media to create my art work. However, I was inspired with what you can do on a tablet in a given time frame and when you do not have any other choice but work with what you have at a plane ride. Adobe Ideas gave me that possibility.
The name is a pun on the famous book/film, "Girl Interrupted" where the author checks in a mental institution voluntarily. In this case, "Girl, Painted" is created in layers using Adobe Ideas to create a portrait of a girl who is voluntarily trying out this new way of creating art. In the end, it is not clear whether this girl (myself) will leave the institution of digital art making, but image making has many tools at its disposal where mixed media and collage already explore the printed form of digitally created images as part of the whole. So, we can not escape this institution unless we resort completely to traditional painting methods.
