Ümit Yalçınalp, Ph.D.
This is my personal website.

In 1996, I started hosting my personal cv at Geocities. I never thought of using it for E-Commerce, but simply to give a link to my background for others, recruiters, simply the curious, old and new friends who needs to connect, etc. End of an era. Nowadays everyone has their CV/resume online. Professional personas moved to Linkedin. There is Facebook for your friends and wanna bes. Twitter for your brand. Sadly, Geocities is no more! Be a pioneer and it goes away. The content should not. Hence the move to this site.

Thanks for visiting.

After a year as a  developer evangelist at salesforce.com, I returned back to my roots as a software architect and joined Adobe to work on the Creative Suite. Nowadays, I am busy in design of common shared services for the suite, ranging from single sign on, OAuth2.0, SaaS subscription services to globalization, which require collaboration with many internal teams and departments.
I keep a bio and pubs list here, but a more comprehensive one (and a more uptodate one) can be found on Linkedin, among kind words from fabulous people that I was fortunate to work with.

I am also a painter and singer on my "spare" time. Some of my work can be found by following the Art link on the left.

The picture is taken in Bodrum, Turkey in August 2009. The castle, the sunset, the boats, the sea and the crescent moon.
It is magical although my iPhone camera does not do justice and the picture is blurry,  just being able to capture the place, the mood and longing.
